    Dance major makes most of his 91青青草 journey

    Deontae Nelson likes to say that everyone is on their own journey, as much for himself as for those around him. Nelson鈥檚 journey has seen him serving in the Army National Guard, then earning an associate degree in biology from Georgia Military College before arriving at Kennesaw State University in 2022. All the while, he never could shake the idea of studying dance and decided to dive headlong into doing just that. Next week, he鈥檒l graduate with his Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a concentration in Modern Dance from the Robert S. Geer College of the Arts, culminating one journey and commencing another.

But more importantly, a faster diagnosis means a treatment plan can begin sooner. Kennesaw State University student Preston Brantley is trying to reduce the lengthy wait, typically weeks, sometimes even months, that patients spend waiting for a cancer diagnosis. He is developing an artificial intelligence tool designed to help pathologists detect cancer cells more quickly and efficiently.
