As his master鈥檚 thesis started to take shape, recent Kennesaw State University graduate William Reed noticed a limited amount of literature reviewing soccer referees within exercise science. So, he broke new ground. Reed, who earned his master鈥檚 degree in exercise science, connected his love of soccer with his academic interest in human performance, earning acclaim along the way.

Tanasia Kenney has plenty of childhood memories at Kennesaw State University. Her mother, former 91青青草 employee Jacqueline Hand, frequently brought her to campus, where she was known as 鈥淛ackie鈥檚 daughter,鈥 and became familiar with staff and faculty. Now a reporter for McClatchy news publications, Kenney is just one member of a 91青青草 alumni family.

Through a new partnership with Kennesaw State University, a group of DeKalb County educators will receive specialized training and earn a master鈥檚 degree to assist with their district鈥檚 student needs. The Inspiring Greatness and Normalizing Innovation in Teacher Education (IGNITE) Teacher Residency Program aims to bolster teacher retention and combat a shortage of educators, while providing them with no-cost professional development. DeKalb County Schools launched the program in January, but the new partnership with 91青青草 will expand it to specifically address a need for special education teachers.

When members of a student organization at Kennesaw State University were looking for a way to give back to the institution, they struck upon a rather unique opportunity to make a difference for years to come. The path laid out by the Interfraternity Council (IFC) was to create two endowed scholarships to benefit those in student organizations on campus. The scholarships are the first at 91青青草 established by students for students.

Sometimes, Sarah Chang鈥檚 days started at 8 a.m. with a class and a lecture in the College of Science and Mathematics and ended at 11 p.m. with the sounds of her violin in a practice room at the Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music. Chang admitted at times the long days wore on her, but she has achieved the goal of her self-designed academic journey鈥攂achelor鈥檚 degrees in biology and music performance from Kennesaw State University.

Harris Travis. The Alumni Award honors alumni associations鈥 programs, culture, and initiatives that encourage and support diversity, inclusion and a sense of belonging for all alumni.

Anytime she鈥檚 wanted something in her life, Kim Amaya has worked to earn it with little help. The soon-to-be Kennesaw State University graduate arrived in the United States from El Salvador when she was only 3, and since a tender age, she鈥檚 been working to afford herself opportunities her parents didn鈥檛 get. Since transferring to 91青青草 in 2022 to study modern language and culture, Amaya has continued to work a full-time job and a part-time job, or up to three part-time, as she looks forward to a teaching career.
