Graduate students on both campuses have designated spaces that cater to their diverse needs and offer a serene environment for studying, group projects, brainstorming sessions, and workshops. A current Talon Card is required for entry to the Student Success Center on Kennesaw campus.

Boren Awards logo - The Boren Fellowship is a competitive award designed to fund graduate students

The Boren Fellowship

The Boren Fellowship is a competitive award designed to fund graduate students鈥� study and/or research abroad for a duration of 3 to 12 months in various countries. Recipients of the Boren Fellowship are required to pursue a course of study or research project that includes a substantial component of language study. The objective of the award is to train Americans in languages that are not commonly spoken in the United States. Following the fellowship, Boren Fellows commit to spending a year working within a U.S. government agency, thereby offering an excellent start to their careers.

Doctoral Students - Preparing to Walk

Below is important information to help you prepare for graduation and, if you choose, to participate in Fall 2024 commencement.

1. Check DegreeWorks. Ensure that all requirements, including all dissertation forms, have been approved鈥攅xcept for the oral defense form. All forms must be approved (as reflected in DegreeWorks) before you are eligible to graduate AND eligible to walk in commencement.

2. Confirm with your advisor that you are ready to defend your dissertation before the end of the semester.

3. Here is the timeline for permission to walk in commencement: 

  • November 12, 2024 颅- To ensure that you can participate, receive guest tickets, and have your name in the commencement book. 

  • November 19, 2024 - To ensure that you can participate and have your name in the commencement book. 

  • November 26, 2024 - To ensure that you can participate.
