Minor in Sociology

In a society dramatically reshaped by evolving social and technological forces, there is a need for a greater socio-cultural understanding. The Sociology Minor provides you with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a radically changing and diverse interpersonal environment. It offers the opportunity to fit information from your discipline into a larger social framework.

You will gain a broad overview of sociology that focuses on the social nature of human behavior, including influences from culture, social structure, socialization, deviance, stratification, family, gender, religion and more. Additionally, you will chose from courses that look at the foundations of social theory, the importance of race and ethnicity, social class and mobility, and many more.
