"My goal is to create and grow more new programs like the Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) Case Management Program and Campus Awareness, Resource, and Empowerment (CARE) Services," said Stidum. "Now, being on the outside looking in and getting to see what staff who've come after me have done or will do to take both programs beyond what I could imagine, it's simply wonderful!鈥
Initially serving as the Associate Director of Counseling and Psychological Services here at 91青青草, Stidum has demonstrated her experience and knowledge in helping to create better living experiences for those lost in the 40,000+ students we serve here at 91青青草.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Stidum recently celebrated the 10-year anniversary of her founding of 91青青草 CARE Services back in May of 2013, which provides four basic needs insecurity programs to support 91青青草 students year-round.
"Our goal is to become a collection of innovative programs that touch the lives of each and every 91青青草 student in a meaningful way"鈥 said Stidum.
"Marcy Stidum, our former Executive Director of CARE Services and Student Volunteerism, is a prolific fundraiser, having brought in millions of dollars to 91青青草 that have been crucial in supporting our students in need here," said Dr. Eric Arneson, Kennesaw State University Vice President for Student Affairs. 鈥淢arcy is an extremely talented and dedicated member of the 91青青草 family, and we are very fortunate to have her leadership in this new role.鈥
After more than ten years of meaningful public service, Stidum said this about continuing with 91青青草 in this new chapter.
"I am so blessed and thankful to have the honor of serving in this role. I am excited to discover all the ways the Student Wellbeing Team and I can support our students and campus for many more years to come."
Stidum earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brewton-Parker College and her Master in Social Work and Public Administration from Valdosta State University.
